And that says a lot. That is precisely why my teen also has a VERY long leash, and will have it until he falls off the honor roll (gush gush) or does something he knows is not right. He’s a great teen, and he doesn’t have to lie to me.

Free Range Kids is one of my favorite parenting blogs.  It’s always great writing, and those of you with the same informed laid back style as myself and millions of other parents should keep up with it! I love raising my kids EXACTLY the way I was raised (and I didn’t turn out *too* bad… ) and know they’re safe, happy, and getting a great experience in childhood that will teach them independence as an adult.

And found this one of Autumn carrying her baby in her sling!  I love this shot – I cut the bottom 10 inches or so off of an old tshirt and it’s a perfect “sling” for little ones… now I’ll need to go dig it out so Ayla can carry her babies too!  Spread the joy of babywearing – start ‘em young!!

Everyone outside of Al Gore’s extended family now knows that man-made global warming is an urban legend cooked up by painty-waist eco-nuts who never got over the fact that George W. Bush was (twice!) elected President of the United States.

I love the sound of “I told you so” in the morning.   I got so sick and tired over the years hearing friends and family and strangers on the internet buy into this crap, I’m so glad it’s finally becoming a common realization that CHANGING YOUR LIGHTBULB WON’T CHANGE THE WORLD.  The changes in the Earth’s climate are CYCLICAL AND THERE’S NOT A DAMNED THING YOU’RE GOING TO DO TO CHANGE IT.

Well, Otard thinks he can – watch more of your tax dollars go buh bye!!!  If you’re not paying for someone overseas or here in the USSA to murder their baby, you’re gonna pay for someone to say they can change the sunspots.  Good investments.  Yeah, baby, you are such smart voters out there!

Unless, of course, you’re Al Gore or General Electric.  You guys just continue to live in your little fantasy world.  Now, can we whip that Nobel Prize out from the meaty arm hanging at Al’s waistline’s orbit (yeah, you’re not eating cow, right Al baby?) and give to someone that actually deserved and earned it, instead of someone that bought it?  Thank you.

You won’t see much, I’m sure, about this in the mainstream media, because our new “leader” (that pains me) thinks children are a punishment and is fine with killing them at any time for whatever reason, and the MSM would be censored, blackballed, or fired if they dare disagree with The One…. but I wanted to let everyone know it’s happening today, and my hopes and prayers are with the cause and that we can stop the senseless killing of innocent unborn babies.  God help us all fight this cause.

Okay, I’ll admit – I’m a reality TV addict.  I find it amusing to watch these people who have no shame act like idiots in front of millions of people.  It more or less solidifies my opinion of people in general, but I digress….

So we catch an episode of the new show, “True Beauty“.  If you haven’t seen it, the premise is that a dozen “beautiful people” (as they think they are) are brought on for competitions, to find the MOST beautiful person.  But it’s more than that – they are testing these people on basic human compassion, trust, common sense, respect, etc. 

But the catch is – THEY DON’T KNOW IT.  They think they’re being judged for their looks alone. 

For example – at a photo shoot, the wardrobe lady is having a personal problem and keeps breaking out in tears and crying and walking out of the room.  All but two of these “beautiful people” blew her off, even saying things like. “Pssshaw, it’s not MY problem, just do your job” and the like.  Two of them took a moment to simply ask her if she was allright.  That’s all.  “Are you okay?”  And the majority couldn’t manage that.

Not too difficult, I would think – but apparently very hard for these “beautiful people” to think about anyone but themselves.

So anyways, one of the women up for elimination cried and exclaimed that “she’s never lost at anything”.

Now I get to the point of my post.

WHY?????  WHY have you never lost at anything?  This is the problem today.  Our children play sports where no score is kept – everyone is a winner.  Party invitations can’t be handed out in class lest someone not get one – so no one is left out.   Teachers and coaches are told that everyone’s equal – no one can be a loser.

Well, I got news for ya.  There are times you LOSE in life.  There are times you simply are not as good as the other person or team.  Deal with it.  Life is not full of wins – you wil not get that job you interviewed for, you won’t keep the boyfriend or girlfriend you have, you might get fired, you might get divorced, you might LOSE.

Why does losing make one a bad person?  Why does not succeeding at something make you a failure?  You may not be a great writer, but you may draw great pictures.  You may not be a great speaker, but you may be a great singer. 

You win, you lose.  Life.  Our children need to lose every once in a while, or they will never feel the real joy of a win.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) – Officials with the incoming administration of Barack Obama have confirmed that he will indeed overturn a pro-life policy of President Bush on his first day in office. Despite campaigning on the rhetoric of wanting to reduce abortions, Obama will make one of his first actions promoting them globally.

Meanwhile, some 77 members of Congress have signed onto a letter asking Obama to back down from doing so.

I am searching for the words to express my personal disgust and disdain of this information.  I watch my babies play on the floor this morning and want to cry for those who can’t.  And now our tax dollars can pay for more murders. 

Good job, America.  Not only did you vote in a racist, you voted in a murderer who thinks babies are punishment.  What’s wrong with you people?

I’m ashamed of my country’s people (or should I say the press??) for voting this racist man into office, with his racist groupies all living up his arse like he’s a rock star, and everyone else afraid to say anything because the “white man” would be racist if he did.  We are looking at four years of this – everyone tiptoeing around him, afraid of being the one to call him on the carpet for his lousy choices, his lies, or his associations, lest they be blackballed (gee, am I still allowed to say that?) by the press and anyone else in their path.

BO will only gain my respect when he apologizes to the people - to US – for his associates’ comments, and when he ceases to surround himself with these morally challenged beings.  Cease.  Period.  No friends or family that hate America.  Or hate white people.  Or hate black people.  I don’t care who they hate.  It needs to stop. 

Even then, I must know much more about him before I can call him MY president.

I will be sad, yet satisfied, when I get to buy the bumper sticker and t-shirt that says “I Told You So”.
